VP Pence: Caravan is latest reminder of illegal immigration crisis in U.S.

Vice President Mike Pence believes the migrant caravan is just a small part of a larger problem involving America’s broken immigration system.

In an interview Monday, Pence claimed it’s important to recognize the illegal immigration crisis in the country. He criticized Democrats for opposing the wall and enabling loop holes used by human traffickers to “entice vulnerable migrant families” to sneak across the border.

Pence also praised President Trump for following through on his campaign promise to crack-down on illegal immigration.

The vice president insisted the “broken system” can only be fixed under Republican direction.

“The latest caravan is just the latest reminder to the American people of how much we need to address this crisis, and we really believe with renewed Republican leadership in the House and in the Senate, and with Republican leadership in statehouses around the country, we’ll be able to bring together the support necessary to end this crisis of illegal immigration once and for all,” he stated.

This comes after President Trump announced he may send up to 15,000 troops to the border as the migrant caravan swells to 12,000 people.
