GPI Holding Emerges as Market Leader in terms of Insurance Premium

GPI Holding is the market leader in terms of insurance premium generated. In 2017 the company received revenues of 102 million GEL.

Aldagi insurance company is second with 90 million GEL insurance premium, Imedi L is third with 51 million GEL insurance premium. Ardi and TBC are also recorded in top 5 insurance companies in terms of generated insurance premium.

The ratio of these top five insurance companies in total insurance premium is 70%. The remaining 11% is shared by 11 other insurance companies.

It should be noted that in 2017 the Georgian insurance sector generated 441 million GEL insurance premium, up 12% as compared to 2016.

As to paid claims, in 2017 the sector paid claims of 249 million GEL, up 7% as compared to 2016.
